About the Swingin' Wildcats:
The jazz band is one of the most successful programs at Brea Olinda high school. They have won numerous festival and have competed both on the regional and national levels, earning gold ratings at the Heritage Music Festivals. Amongst their many accomplishments the Swingin' Wildcats earned the honor of opening for the CSU Long Beach Jazz Ensemble at the prestigious Mile High Jazz Festival in Lake Arrowhead, earned a Gold rating and the adjudicators award at the San Antonio, Seattle, and Dallas Heritage Festivals, and have performed with professional musicians such as Wayne Bergeron and Ernie Watts.
The jazz band at Brea Olinda high school hosts one of the largest jazz festivals in southern California with nearly twenty-five competing bands every year. In the inaugural year of the festival, May of 2005, the Wildcats had the privilege of performing with trumpet great Wayne Bergeron from the Big Phat Band. Mr. Bergeron and other outstanding jazz musicians and educators have been a part of this festival and have contributed greatly to its success.

March 5 - Western States Jazz Festival
March 19 - Irvine Jazz Festival
April 30 - Coronado Jazz Festival
May 7 - Mile High Jazz Festival (Rim of the World HS)
May 13 - BOHS Spring Concert @ 7:00pm, Call time 5:30pm
